The Gold Health Initiative, a non-profit organization with a vision to end the spread of infectious diseases and maintenance of good hygiene has launched a Hygiene project targeting 200 children with the mission of empowering them with knowledge on ways to tackle the spread of diseases
With the right knowledge targeted at the children, the organization sees the long-term impact on their family members.

Gold Health Initiative has three main ways to tackle the spread of diseases as highlighted which are:
- Enlightenment- Educating the children on the importance of good hygiene and sanitation practice.
- Providing infrastructure – Building hand wash stations and toilets where there is a need.
- Providing materials- providing recipients with hygiene and sanitation items.
In the year 2019 and 2020, several school children in the North Central Zone of Nigeria were taken through the three disease curtailment components which include:
- Hygiene clubs introduced in schools, where the children started to learn on hand hygiene and proper hygiene techniques. The children were also provided with antibacterial soaps and hand sanitizers for their classrooms.
- Hand wash stations were built in schools and the children taught and encouraged on habits and benefits of handwashing.
- Hygiene kits provision for children. The kits contained hand sanitizer, soaps, masks, face shield and comic book.
The chairman of the Advisory board, Dr Bala Muhammed and the entire advisory board envision an Africa with its people living in good health and longevity.
The Executive Director of Gold Health Initiative, Morolayo Akpuluma, indicated a 5-year plan capable of covering the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria. This will be in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2, 3, 4 and 6 which focuses on zero hunger, education, health, water and sanitation. The 2019 and 2020 events were sponsored by kind-hearted donors and non-profit Organization partners including Rock Garden Foundation directed by Mrs Gbemisola Fadugbagbe and King of Salem Foundation coordinated by Mrs Kenny Nantwi.
The Gold Health Initiative is committed to the United Nations Sustainable Development GOALS 2, 3, 4 and 6 which focuses on zero hunger, education, health, water and sanitation.
